Professional Background 

How long have you been at SIUE? 

This is my first year at SIUE. 

How did you get here? 

I taught for over 22 years, which included Maryland public schools, The Pennsylvania State University, University of Northern Colorado, and the State University of New York at New Paltz. Recently, I was with the Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls and the Mary Institute and Country Day School (MICDS), both located in St. Louis, MO. For 7 years I advised major students, while a faculty member at both UNCO and SUNY New Paltz. I'm now embarking on a turn in my professional career that focuses entirely on advising. 

What are you most passionate about professionally? 

Getting to know about students' goals, interests, and where they come from, while helping them to navigate the university systems, the requirements, and campus life. 

What do you love most about working at SIUE? 

The people; they are genuine, kind, and willing to help. The campus spaces; there's artwork everywhere! 

What are your primary duties in your current position?  

To advise undergraduate students and assist them in choosing and declaring a major.

 I grew up in a suburb town outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
