Internationally Renowned Violinist David Kim with the SIUE Orchestra

Concertmaster of the world-famous Philadelphia Orchestra David Kim returns to his home state to join the SIUE Orchestra for this special concert.
Mr. Kim started playing violin at age 3, and has two degrees from Julliard. He regularly performs nationally and internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn. He has been the concert master of The Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999, and published his first book, “The Audition Method for Violin,” in 2022.
Mr. Kim will perform Bruch's colorful “Scottish Fantasy” on the Dunham Hall stage. Other selections for the evening will include Verdi's Overture to “Nabucco” and end with Shostakovich's epic and dramatic “Fifth Symphony.”
