Amber Hoene
Lecturer
Amber Hoene was born and raised in Alton, IL where she grew up as a competitive dancer. She trained in various styles and won many awards and accolades throughout her competitive journey. She then went on to major in dance in college and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Theater and Dance with an emphasis in Dance. She spent a few years growing as a dance educator and then decided to continue her education at SIUE, pursuing coursework in Kinesiology focused on Exercise Physiology. She is an NASM-certified personal trainer and trains dancers in the St. Louis area. She teaches various dance classes in the SIUE Theatre and Dance Department including, Jazz dance, Advanced Jazz, Movement Fundamentals and The Dance Experience. Amber is a teacher at Turning Pointe Academy of Dance in Maryville, IL as well as a competitive teacher and choreographer at Performing Arts Centre in St. Charles, Missouri, and Farmington Creative Arts Centre in Farmington, Missouri.
