He has published essays on the Bible, Homer, Sophocles, Augustine, Shakespeare, Herbert, Milton, Basho, Frost, Dylan, and more. His own poems have appeared in Poetry, Rattle, and Poetry in Motion, and his first collection Sehnsucht recently won the Prize Americana.
