About the Department of Political Science
SIUE is located in southern Illinois, about twenty miles from the great city of St. Louis, MO. The Department of Political Science has five faculty members and one staff member. We offer two degree programs: a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a Bachelor of Science in political science. Our students can also minor in political science.
We are known for providing an excellent education to each of our undergraduate students, and are connected with the Initiative for Urban Research, the Peace and International Studies minor, and the Pre-Law minor programs.
Several of our faculty have won awards in recognition of their high-quality teaching, research, and service. Our faculty publihsh well-respected research and have a long tradition of outreach and community service.
The department also has a distinguished history of producing graduates who successfully shaping a changing world through their varied post-graduate endeavors. Our graduates include former Representative Bill Enyart (D-IL), many successful members of the legal community, several who have gone on to become academics, and others who have become successful in other areas.
