Proxy (Parent, Legal Guardian, or Other Third-party) Access

 Your student must take action to establish you as an authorized Proxy to access their 1098T details. Your student can find the instructions on our website, www.siue.edu/bursar.  On the home page, click on FAQ.  Under FAQ – 1098T Tax Form > Can a parent, authorized third-party, access my 1098T?

 After the student completes the online profile for a new authorized Proxy, a series of emails is sent to the email address of the new Proxy to activate their access. Please read the emails, as each one contains different information.

 Once you’ve set-up a new password, you will log into the Proxy portal. Your first-time login will land on a brief Proxy Profile page to complete and submit.

 The next step, you will land on a page to select your student. If you have more than one SIUE student, you can access both students as long as they establish you on their account using the same email for you.

 You will see I am a Proxy for (student name) with a ‘Select to View’ drop down menu. Here you will select Bursar – Tax Notification 1098T.

 Next step, you will select the Tax Year. The Official Tuition Statement form will display for that tax year. Using the printer icon on the upper right, you will be given the option to print the form as displayed, or you can print the form and the related Supplemental information.

 If you encounter any problems, try using a different web browser (ie. chrome, firefox). Additional information regarding the 1098T and the applicable tax credits.  Your student can also obtain this information on Cougarnet – select Student > Student Account > Select Tax Year > Enter the tax year > Tax Notification.
