Why has the Bursar's Office put a hold on my account?

The Office of the Bursar will place a financial related holds on a student's account for the following reasons;

  • owe an outstanding balance from a prior semester 
  • installment payments for the current semester are not up-to-date
  • Not accepted the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement
  • returned payment (Check/ACH/Credit Card)

Financial Hold will typically block you eligibility to register for the next semester, or make course changes in the current semester. If you have questions after reviewing the reason for the hold in CougarNet, please contact the Bursar's Office.
