2016 CLI Alumni Leadership Award Recipient
Lauren Williams
BIM Manager
S.M. Wilson
Professional Activities:
Lauren rose quickly from Project Engineer to BIM Manager at S. M. Wilson, and made a significant company-wide impact by immersing BIM into the company’s suite of pre-construction and construction management services. Over the past four years, she has utilized BIM’s enhanced project visualization, better project costing, improved scheduling and timing, better constructability detection and real-time coordination and communication between all project team members to help design, plan and manage $325 million of increasingly complex large construction projects.
Lauren is now a certified BIM instructor and has taught several full-day BIM classes to approximately 50 St. Louis area AEC professionals. She has also become an active member of the AGC of America IT Forum Steering Committee, and of the AGC Missouri’s Technology Committee and Design and Technology Conference Committee. More importantly, she has achieved local, regional and national professional recognition as a leader in BIM and Mobile construction site technology applications.
Lauren was just named a member of ENR Midwest’s Top 20 Under 40 Class of 2016 for having built an extraordinary industry portfolio in just a few short years while donating significant amounts of time and expertise to serve her community.
Community/Personal Activities:
Lauren focuses her contributions to the community by leading the St. Louis Chapter of Wish Upon A Wedding, the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances. Lauren also serves the Urban Land Institute as a Member of its Women’s Leadership Initiative and has been involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
