Professional Activities:
An SIUE graduate and a 2006 CLI Graduate, Mike has over 23 years of building industry experience. Mike joined Holland Construction in 1997 as a Project Manager. Over the years, he has held the positions of Director of Construction Operations, VP of Construction Operations, and was promoted to President in 2011. As President, Mike oversees construction operations, is involved in strategic planning and overall direction of the company including employee management, business development and providing leadership for the management team. He is committed to understanding clients’ goals and objectives and supporting them to be successful. With his can-do approach, Mike is passionate about nurturing the growth and development of others at Holland, within his family and within his community. Mike has been involved in many professional organizations including the Regional Business Council Mentor Network, SIUE CLI Advisory Board, McKendree University Board of Trustees and Executive Committee, Young President’s Organization, AGC Board of Directors, SIUE School of Engineering Advisory Board, and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois.
Mike has also been the recipient of several awards including the U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute Commendation, IL Business Journal’s 2005 Rising Star and 2009 All-Star, the St. Louis Business Journal’s “40 under 40” in 2012, and the 2013 SIUE Department of Construction Outstanding Alumnus.
Community/Personal Activities
Mike has served as a church leader since 1999, held several positions with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Illinois since 2007 as well as the United Way of Greater St. Louis since 2010. He has also served on the American Red Cross Leadership Council, and currently serves as a Belleville CEO High School Mentor.
