FIE: Foundation for International Education
FIE, a London-based non-profit educational organization and study abroad partner for the SIUE School of Business, provides programs for undergraduates in London, Dublin and Amman.
London
When you choose an FIE London program, you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey to one of the world’s most culturally diverse and dynamic cities. You’ll live and study in London, a vibrant metropolis brimming with museums, theaters and green spaces. Famed for its iconic skyline and storied history, London is home to some of earth’s most recognizable treasures including the London Eye, Parliament and the Tate Modern.
As London specialists, FIE’s staff and faculty have been helping students realize their potential in this great city since 1998. Programs in London are located at FIE’s Foundation House study center, opposite the Gloucester Road Underground Station in Kensington. One of London’s most attractive and desirable locations, Kensington provides a beautiful living and learning environment for students. Just down the street are some of the world’s great cultural institutions, including the Royal Albert Hall , the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum, as well as Chelsea’s famed King’s Road shopping district and stunning Hyde Park.
Dublin
Dublin is consistently ranked one of the best cities in the world for study abroad – and it’s no wonder why. Ireland’s capital is edgy, sophisticated and fast growing, all while maintaining its quirky, historic charm.
While Dublin may still be better known for its ancient pubs and famous Guinness Storehouse than as a hub for technology startups, things are changing quickly as Internet heavyweights including Google, Facebook and Twitter have set up shop next to scrappy newcomers such as SumUP, Dogpatch Labs and Dropbox in an area of the city known as the Silicon Docks. For students more interested in old lit than high tech, it doesn’t get much better than Dublin. In a single afternoon, a person can walk in the footsteps of giants like Beckett, Joyce and Wilde at the Writer's Museum before delving into their famous tomes housed in the massive National Library.
The city has a charming big-village feel and there’s always something to do no matter what your interest. If you fancy a run you can visit Phoenix Park, for some fresh sea air just jump on a 30-minute train to Howth, for the culture vultures the Chester Beatty Library, the famous Abbey Theatre or the National Museum are just some of the museums and theatres available, for sports fanatics a trip to Croke Park is in order to watch Ireland’s national sports, Gaelic Football and Hurling and for the shopaholics Grafton Street and Henry street will have everything you’re after.
FIE programs in Dublin are direct-enrollment options at one of three universities:
- Dublin Business School (semester, internship and summer program options)

While enrolled at your institution of choice, the professional staff at the FIE Dublin office offer a wide variety of resources including housing, health and safety support and extra-curricular activities. Immerse yourself in Dublin and the Irish way of life.
Amman
Are you interested in peace and conflict resolution, social justice, Middle East studies or Arabic language?
FIE has partnered with AMIDEAST in Amman, Jordan to offer this unique program. Spend your summer in Dublin, Northern Ireland, and Amman exploring the process of peace and the sensitive cultural and societal roots of conflict.
Your program begins in Dublin where you study peace and conflict theory using Northern Ireland as a case study. Your classroom experience is followed by a study tour to Northern Ireland to contextualize your course work.
Once in Amman, you will use your new understanding of peace and conflict to examine how the Arab/Israeli conflict; regional conflicts such as those in Lebanon, Yemen or Iraq; and tribal conflicts are being addressed.
Following the conclusion of the Peace & Conflict Resolution Program, you have the opportunity to stay in Amman and pursue a course in intensive Arabic language, including instruction in both Modern Standard Arabic and Jordanian Arabic.
