August 12, 2026, Total Solar Eclipse at SIUE

On Wednesday, August 12, the US will experience a total solar eclipse. St. Louis will see a significant partial eclipse, but totality will be in Iceland, Spain, and the Balearic Islands

Glasses

  • Observing a solar eclipse is a remarkable experience when done safely. 
  • Never look at the sun without special eclipse eyewear.
  • Standard sunglasses are not enough.
