About Dr. Huskey
Dr. Huskey has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in exercise science, psychology, and health since 2008. She spent the first portion of her career at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, Tennessee. While there she oversaw service projects, department fundraisers, owned a karate studio, developed a sport psychology concentration, and completed her graduate degrees. Her dissertation research studied tattoo visibility and self-esteem as it relates to the body.
In 2016, after completing her Ph.D., she moved to the St. Louis area and began teaching at several universities as adjunct faculty. She also is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. Dr. Huskey began full-time at SIUE in the fall of 2021. She teaches courses in the kinesiology program and is the internship coordinator.
