Welcome to Electrical and Computer Engineering!
Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the academic departments within the School of Engineering at SIUE. It manages two different programs: Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CE) both offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. The EE department was established in 1972. The CE department was established in 1999.
Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) are fields that are in high demand in a fast-growing field. Electrical and Computer Engineers are sought after by many potential employers. Positions can range from logistics, transportation, healthcare, construction, robotics, technology, manufacturing to name just a few.
Electrical Engineers are the main factors in the development and advancement of technology. Electrical Engineers construct, design, perform research in areas such as power, energy, circuits, electronics, optics, communications, networking, electromagnetics and signal processing.
Computer Engineers are the technical and problem-solving graduates. Computer Engineers analyze, design, implement and verify computing systems. CE work in all aspects of the computer industry. You will the computer system from top to bottom. Making Computer Engineers some of the highest paid engineers.
ECE is a field that will help you pursue a career in a fast growing, high demand future.
