Graduate Assistantships

Qualifications

Applicants either admitted to or enrolled in the
SIUE graduate program or cooperative Ph.D.
program are encouraged to apply. Although
Construction and Survey & Geomatics majors are
preferred, other majors may be considered based
on the needs of the Department and the applicant
pool. Appointment to a graduate assistantship
is provided on a competitive basis. Generally,
a minimum GPA of 3.3 is required, although
exceptions may be considered

Position Description

This graduate assistantship position supports Construction and Survey & Geomatics faculty. Teaching
assistantships may include lab set-up, lab operations, lab instruction, monitoring student lab safety,
and grading. Research assistantships include working directly with faculty on topics within their
specialization.
Graduate Assistants are provided non-accruable paid sick leave as well as paid bereavement leave as
described in the Graduate Assistant Handbook.

candidate must submit a resume, letter of
recommendation, and an unofficial transcript to
cnst_assistantshipapplications@siue.edu.

Applicant Materials Are Received By

Positions labeled as "Continuous Recruitment" are listed for hiring units to collect a pool of applicants that may be used for a future term. Because the hiring unit may not have an open position at all times, applicants should refrain from contacting the hiring unit regarding hiring decisions. Hiring units will initiate contact with applicants being considered for future openings.
