First-Year Residence Halls
Bluff, Prairie, and Woodland Halls provide suite-style living for first-year students. These three halls have nearly identical floor plans; the primary differences between the halls are their location and the Living Learning Communities offered. When students apply for housing, they provide preferences for room type and living learning communities, but students do not provide a preferred building request.
- All first-year halls are fully furnished, air-conditioned, smoke-free, and suite-style (two students per room, four share a bathroom).
- Each wing includes study lounges and social lounges with a kitchenette, microwave, and TV.
- Each hall offers an activity wing that includes a 24-hour computer lab, multifunction room, and classrooms.
Residence halls are staffed 24 hours a day with controlled access and video surveillance. Regular patrols of the area are conducted by University Police.
Students living in the first-year halls must purchase a meal plan.
Shared Bedroom
A shared bedroom is the most common room in our first-year residence halls. In this room, there are two extra-long twin beds, two desks and chairs, two dressers, and a closet. Each student in this room will get one of each and share the closet. Outside of the room is the bathroom that is shared between two rooms, and a maximum of four students.
