Day-of Instructions

Move-in is an exciting time. You’re starting your next chapter at SIUE! Below find your move-in instructions based on your housing assignment. 

Bluff Hall Check-In Instructions 

For August 19 and 20 move in 

  1. At your scheduled arrival time, drive to the Evergreen Hall parking lot and park your vehicle. Please do not go directly to Bluff Hall! You should arrive no earlier than your assigned move-in time.  
  2. Go to the Evergreen Hall Multi-Function Room located on the entry level. You will check in and receive your room key at this location. You will not be able to check in before the scheduled date and time for your last name.  
  3. You will be given a line number to drive to the Bluff Hall traffic circle. Only one vehicle per family may unload at the traffic circle between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4 p.m.   

Your vehicle should remain in the Evergreen Hall parking lot until your line number is called. Line numbers will be announced in the Evergreen Hall Multi-Function Room. Please note that if you wish, you may bypass the traffic circle after you check in and park one vehicle in the Bluff Hall parking lot (BH on the campus map) to move in your belongings. Due to the number of people moving in, please expect delays in driving to Bluff Hall.  

  1. When your line number is called, you will exit the Evergreen Hall parking lot and proceed to the Bluff Hall traffic circle (staff will direct you). University staff will collect your line number and place a notice on your windshield with your room number and the time of your arrival. Move-In Crew volunteers will help move belongings to your room. Please note that vehicles remaining in the traffic circle for more than 15 minutes may be ticketed and/or towed. Carts will ONLY be available to assist with transporting belongings for vehicles unloading in the traffic circles. 
  2. After your vehicle is unloaded, immediately exit the traffic circle. Student vehicles should park in Lot BH and vehicles belonging to family/friends should park in Lot E for this day only.  

Prairie Hall and Woodland Hall Check-In Instructions 

 At your scheduled arrival time, one vehicle should park in LOT B (Near the Morris University Center). All other vehicles should park in Lot P4 or P5. Please do not go directly to Woodland Hall You should arrive no earlier than your assigned move-in time. 

  1. Go to the Morris University Center – Goshen Lounge located on the first floor. You will check in and receive your room key at this location. You will not be able to check in before the scheduled date and time for your last name.  
  2. You will be given a line number to drive up to Woodland Hall traffic circle.  Only one vehicle per family may go unload at the traffic circle between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.  Other vehicles may be unloaded after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August XX or after 4 p.m. on Thursday, August XX, 2026.  Your vehicle should remain in Lot B until your line number is called. Line numbers will be announced in the Goshen Lounge.  Due to the number of people moving in, please expect delays in driving to Woodland Hall. 
  3. When your line number is called, you will exit Lot B and proceed to the Woodland Hall traffic circle (staff will direct you). University staff will collect your line number and place a notice on your windshield with your room number and the time of your arrival. Please note that vehicles remaining in the traffic circle for more than 15 minutes may be ticketed and/or towed. Carts will ONLY be available to assist with transporting belongings for vehicles unloading in the traffic circles.  
  4. After your vehicle is unloaded, immediately exit the traffic circle. Student vehicles should park in Lot WH and vehicles belonging to family/friends should park in Lot P4 or P5 for this day only. 

Cougar Village Check-In Instructions 

For August 21 and 22 move in 

  1. At your scheduled arrival, drive to the Cougar Village Parking Lot 4A and follow the signage.  Do not go directly to your apartment!  You should arrive no earlier than the time you were assigned. 
  2. Remain in your vehicle at all times. Staff will direct you to the check-in tent. Please remember to bring your student ID (or another form of photo identification). A staff member will approach your vehicle, check you in, and issue your apartment key. You will not be able to check in before your scheduled date and time. 
  3. Once you have checked in and received your key, you may proceed to your assigned apartment to begin moving in.  
  4. PARKING: Sidewalk gates will be up on the 400 side during Opening to allow residents easier access to their apartments on both the 400 and 500 sides. If you utilize the inner sidewalk for unloading, please follow the guidelines below:
    • Vehicles driving within the gates must have their hazard lights on at all times. 
    • Vehicles driving within the gates should not exceed 10 mph.
