As a part of ITS, the Labs and Classrooms group exists to ensure that:
All students, faculty and staff have a standardized experience that is contemporary, robust, innovative and satisfactory when using technology in assigned learning spaces.
All learning space technologies are maintained and supported at the highest level of professionalism and skill in support of the University's Mission.
There is always a response and solution to any demands of the group in a reasonable and timely fashion, including emergency support.
Our staff stays current with all appropriate technologies and software solutions via knowledge sharing, collaboration and professional development.
Vision
We will enhance and streamline the academic environment through advanced IT and AV support, ensuring seamless integration of technology in education. We aim to provide easy remote participation, class recordings, and dependable classroom technology that is intuitive to use. By performing regular maintenance and remote hardware monitoring, we will minimize disruptions and maintain consistent uptime.
We will raise awareness of our services among faculty and students and provide an efficient tier 1 troubleshooting option for technical issues. We will work with Facilities Management and Academic Scheduling to optimize classroom layouts for an improved teaching and learning experience, enhancing interaction and space utilization.
Engaging closely with faculty, we will co-create technology solutions that meet educational needs. We promise a response time of 10 minutes or less to support requests, and we will continue to adapt our computer classrooms and V-Lab service based on user feedback, ensuring our services evolve with the needs of our academic community.
