Information Technology Services

Services provided for students wishing to produce their own instructional material for classroom presentations or projects.  Most of the services can by done while the student waits.  Production Services office is located in the basement of Lovejoy Library, room 0005. Production Services is located in the ITS office, in the basement of Lovejoy Library, room 0005.  Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am-5:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.  Break week hours may vary. Questions can be emailed to itsmultimedia@siue.edu or by calling the Help Desk at 618-650-5500.

Hot and Cold Laminating

Hot lamination is two sided clear transparent film. Materials for hot laminations can be no larger than 36 inches wide and should be no thicker than 14-ply poster board. Heat sensitive materials will be damaged by this process.

Two types of Cold Lamination are available - a clear contact adhesive that can be used to adhere to most flat surfaces and a two sided clear glossy film. Materials for cold laminating should be no larger than 24 inches wide.

Report/Book Comb Binding

Comb binders are 11 1/2 inches long and range from 5/16th inch to 2 inches in thickness. Clear plastic and manila covers are also available. Materials to be comb bound should be no thicker than heavy card stock.

Posters

Students can request posters for Senior Showcase, Capstone Presentations, Senior Assignment Presentation, & Graduate Symposium Presentations. 

• Our printer will only print 42 inches wide.  Please keep the one dimension 42 inches or less. 
• Please submit your print ready poster to itsmultimedia@siue.edu.  Print ready - meaning your poster is sized correctly, spelling and grammar errors have been fixed, and images have a high enough resolution. Please attach the file to your email. No links please.
• Please specify in the email that the poster is for the Senior Assignment Showcase, Senior Assignment, Grad Symposium, Capstone.
• Please allow 2-3 business days for printing.  It is best to get the poster submitted early to ensure the poster will be printed in time, as we are working on other faculty and campus projects.  If you wait until the day of the showcase or day that it is due, you will not be able to get your poster printed.  We can’t stress enough, DO NOT wait until the last minute.
• When the poster is complete, we will send an email to you with the cost and location to pick up the poster. Our office is located in the basement of Lovejoy Library, room 0005.  Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am-5:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Break week hours may vary.  If you are unable to pick up your poster during these hours, please specify who will be picking up your poster. 
• We accept posters made in PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Publisher.
• PowerPoint and Publisher Posters - Please keep in mind when submitting posters created using a Mac computer, the formatting and fonts may be different when we open them up on our Windows computer.  If you are wanting to keep the same formatting and fonts used on your Mac computer, it is recommended that you save your poster as a PDF.

• Students may pay with a credit or debit card.  Checks and Cougarcards are not accepted.

Lecture Capture

Options for lecture capturing:

Zoom - Zoom is a web conferencing tool that SIUE faculty, staff, and students can use for a variety of purposes, including: synchronous online meetings, lecture capture, live or recorded screen sharing, group messaging, and more.  https://www.siue.edu/its/zoom/

PowerPoint Videos - SIUE faculty, staff, and students can use PowerPoint to capture their voice over slides.  Once each slide has been recorded the presentation can be saved as a mp4 video file.  The file can then be uploaded to the owner's OneDrive or Yuja account.   See this Microsoft support page for help Recording a PowerPoint slide show with narration and slide timings.
