Microsoft Excel Is Now Available with Respondus Monitor

Respondus Monitor now allows the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets during proctored examinations. Respondus’ built-in spreadsheet tool is being discontinued and replaced with the desktop version of Excel. Only the desktop version is supported; the online version of Excel will not work with Respondus Monitor.
This feature is available only on Windows and Mac computers; it is not supported on Chromebooks or iPads.
Students will have the option to either open a pre-populated Excel spreadsheet from Blackboard or launch a blank spreadsheet in Excel. If students are required to submit the Excel spreadsheet as part of the exam, use a File Upload question type in the assessment.
Proctoring results will highlight each time a student switches between Respondus Monitor and Excel, and the system will record their activity in Excel.
As with any new feature, it is recommended that students complete a practice test to become familiar with using Respondus Monitor and Excel in this context.
If you would like more information and instructions on how to use Excel, please take a look at this article from Respondus.
