Support Students’ Time Management with the Blackboard Calendar Tool

Blackboard offers options for date management that help students and faculty organize their workflow and time management. Faculty can create assignments with due dates , establish dates of availability for content and assignments , and schedule announcements to post at a certain time.
Students benefit from transparency of due dates and timelines to help them manage their responsibilities across their personal and educational commitments, and there is another tool that is available in Blackboard to help them sync up their schedules.
Blackboard Calendar is available for all students on the landing page of Blackboard in the Ultra Base Navigation, and that is a universal calendar that can show a student every course and organization they are enrolled in.
In addition, each instructor managing a course shell can add the calendar tool to their course navigation menu. It will show the specific events in that course from the tab within the course shell. The Blackboard calendar tool also allows faculty to enter events in the calendar without associating them with a specific content item or assignment.
Students can choose to share the Blackboard calendar with their personal calendar to see everything associated with dates in Blackboard alongside the rest of the events in their daily lives, or they can sync their personal Google, Outlook, or other calendar with the Blackboard calendar tool.
For more options to coordinate your course using date-specific settings, please see the ITS Knowledgebase or reach out to IDLT for a consult to support your course organization.
