Howard Ash joined the University Marketing and Communications team in May 2012. As university photographer, he is responsible for capturing events and campus life, producing and preserving images, and making creative contributions to the UMC team. Howard enjoys creating imagery that captures the audiences' attention.
Howard has been interested in photography since high school when he was hired as a part-time photo journalist with the local newspaper in Pekin, Ill. Howard attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned a bachelor of fine arts. He honed his craft and gained experience as a commercial photographer in Chicago.
With so many events and photo shoots, Howard has become a fixture on campus. When he is not shooting photos, he can be found spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.
