Ashley Chitwood joined the University Marketing and Communications team in January 2011. She is responsible for creating and managing institutional social media strategy, helping the University connect with target audiences, and expanding the reach of the SIUE brand. She also works as a client relationship manager and content developer, where she creates and implements effective marketing and communication strategies for clients across campus.
Prior to joining SIUE, she worked in the Illinois tourism industry where she gained experience in strategic communications development, planning, project management, advertising, writing, media relations and event planning.
A native of Dieterich, Ill., Ashley earned a bachelor's in speech communication with a concentration in public relations and a master’s in mass communications from SIUE. She truly enjoys working at her alma mater, and is inspired daily by the faculty, staff and students who create the SIUE campus community.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, reading, attending concerts and traveling.
