NCERC

Prior to graduating from Missouri S&T with my Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, I completed a summer internship here at NCERC. During which, I was given the opportunity to step into a leadership role while also gaining hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing. Given how rewarding my first experience at NCERC had been, I decided to return as a Visiting Engineering Research Fellow in order to continue my professional development in the field of biomanufacturing.

Looking back on my experience both as an intern and as a Visiting Engineering Research Fellow, I can confidently say that NCERC has allowed me to accomplish two objectives which are critical to young scientists and engineers like myself. These objectives are (1) gain experience in a field which I am passionate about and (2) build a network of experienced professionals within my industry.

The Fellowship experience specifically can be a valuable tool for young and emerging professionals who want hands-on experience in an environment that provides mentorship and actively creates growth opportunities.

About the Fellowship Program:

The Visiting Research Fellowship and Postdoctoral Research Fellowship programs are an unrivaled learning opportunity for recent graduates of a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program who are interested in pursuing a career in research in the bioeconomy. Fellows work under the guidance of two supervisors who provide them with the technical expertise needed to thrive in their research environments and the leadership skills they need to ramp up the trajectory of their careers.
