Alpha Sigma Tau Chapter at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Honored with Three National Awards
Alpha Sigma Tau’s Beta Eta Chapter at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was recently recognized by the National Organization for demonstrating excellence within the 2022-2024 biennium. Awards were announced at Alpha Sigma Tau’s 45th National Convention in Portsmouth/Norfolk, Virginia, June 20-23, 2024.
The Beta Eta Chapter was recognized with the Financial Excellence Award, the Growth Improvement Award, and the Retention Excellence Award. The Financial Excellence Award is presented to chapters exhibiting strong budgeting and billing practices, financial management, and overall financial health. The Growth Improvement Award is presented to chapters exhibiting significant efforts and improvement in membership recruitment. The Retention Excellence Award is presented to chapters exhibiting a culture of excellence and commitment to membership retention.
Even while increasing their chapter size each academic year and retaining 98% of their collegiate members over the last two years, the chapter managed to ensure that less than 10% of all current members had any type of outstanding balance by the end of the spring 2024 semester.
Chapter President Emily Buss and Vice President of Operations Audrey Verge were present to accept the award. Five other Beta Eta Chapter members attended the convention. Chapter Advisor and Beta Eta Chapter alumna Jenni Cornelius was also in attendance. The Alpha Sigma Tau National Council congratulates the Beta Eta Chapter for their outstanding hard work, perseverance, and commitment to the Sorority and their community.
