SIUE’s Paul Rose Featured as Expert in WalletHub’s Credit Cards Comparison Guide
Paul Rose, PhD, professor of psychology and associate dean in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, recently lent his expertise to WalletHub’s Credit Cards Comparison guide. Rose provided insights on how consumers can make smarter decisions when evaluating credit card options.
Rose’s responses to WalletHub’s questions emphasized the importance of understanding personal spending and lifestyle habits when selecting a card.
“People sometimes get enamored with lucrative welcome bonuses or reward structures without stopping to think about whether those rewards are personally valuable,” Rose said. “For example, a 100,000-mile welcome bonus on an airline credit card may initially look enticing, but that welcome bonus means very little to the consumer who has little chance of flying within that airline's network.”
Rose’s research and teaching focus at SIUE specializes in social-personality psychology. His insight into consumer behavior lends advisement to WalletHub as a natural extension of his mentoring expertise.
