Kaufmann, Eickhoff and Simpson Earn All-OVC Honors
Three SIUE golfers, Brady Kaufmann, Alex Eickhoff and Will Simpson, have earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors as announced ahead of the OVC Championship.
Kaufmann and Eickhoff were each named to the All-OVC first team. Simpson earned second team honors and also was named to the All-Newcomer team.
Entering the Championship, Kaufmann is the scoring leader in the OVC with a 70.8 average. He has one tournament title and five top-10 finishes this season. The native of Jacksonville, Illinois, has been named OVC Golfer of the Week three times this season and also was the September Golfer of the Month award in the OVC. This is Kaufmann's third All-OVC honor. He was a first team selection in 2024 and the Freshman of the Year in 2023.
Eickhoff is fifth in the OVC in scoring average at 72.0 entering the championship. He has earned three top-10 finishes and two other top-15 finishes. The native of Hillsboro, Illinois, was the OVC Golfer of the Month for October. This is Eickhoff's second All-OVC honor. He was an All-Newcomer team selection in 2023.
Simpson has earned two top-five finishes in his first year as a Cougar, following a transfer from Troy. The native of Pella, Iowa, earned a runner-up finish at Missouri State's Twin Oaks Intercollegiate where he shot his best 54-hole total-finishing at 209 (-4).
The OVC Championship gets underway Sunday at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
