SIUE’s Arwood Named OVC Pitcher of the Week

SIUE right-hander Avery Arwood has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week after posting two shutouts this past week.
Arwood, a freshman from St. Joseph's, Michigan, finished with three wins overall. She blanked Southern Indiana and Tennessee State last week while adding a win in relief Sunday against Tennessee State.
For the week, she recorded a 1.00 earned run average, allowed seven hits, walked three batters and struck out 18 over 14 innings of work.
The Cougars next are at Missouri Tuesday for a 5 p.m. start.
