SIUE Athletics Commitment to Academic Success Continues
SIUE student-athletes continue to progress academically according to the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores released Tuesday.
SIUE programs combined for an average APR score of 987, which is higher than the national average of 984.
"Our student-athletes continue to achieve excellent results in the classroom and in competition," SIUE Director of Athletics Andrew Gavin said. "Academic success is part of both our proud history and our collective commitment. Thank you to Jaci DeClue, Ashley Beaton Simpson and Lindsey Schmidt for the all they do to support our student-athletes."
Three Cougar programs achieved APR scores of 1,000. Golf, women's cross country and tennis all received perfect scores. In all, 11 of SIUE's 14 programs met or exceeded the national average for their sport.
The current scores are a four-year average. The most recent data covers the 2020-21 through the 2023-24 academic years.
