Scenes from 2025 Beep Baseball World Series Opening Ceremonies at SIUE!
On July 21, Chancellor James T. Minor, PhD, welcomed the 2025 Beep Baseball World Series to the Glen-Ed West Soccer Complex. The annual event offers competition and camaraderie through the game of beep baseball for the blind and visually impaired.
The first of these games was held in September 1975 in St. Paul, Minn. The National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA) was initially established in January 1976 in Chicago.
Mayor Art Risavy had this to say about the games hosted this year in Edwardsville: "This is truly a wonderful event and organization. It was an honor and joy to be on hand for the opening ceremony. We'd certainly love to have more Beep Baseball activities come to Edwardsville. It's a great experience for the athletes and the community, too."
