Pharmacy Residency Programs Annual Showcase Wraps Semester of SIUE Career Fairs
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy (SOP) hosted their Career Fair and Residency Showcase on Nov. 19. Thirty-four agencies met students at this annual showcase for Employers and Pharmacy Residency Programs, the final career fair of the semester from SIUE’s Career Development Center.
Throughout the academic year, SOP works with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) to match applicants to residency positions. For the SOP Class of 2025, 97% of the School’s graduates pursuing residencies obtained a match. This match rate ranked sixth nationally, and first in the state of Illinois. Eighty-four percent was the average in the state, and 81% was the national average this past year.
“The demand for our graduates remains high and speaks volumes about the quality of the education and the effort that our students put forth while pursuing their Doctor of Pharmacy degree at SIUE. The faculty and staff understand the value in nurturing professional development, and it shows in the exceptional employment and residency rates upon graduation and licensure,” said Dean Mark Luer, PharmD, FCCP.
In total, SIUE Career Development Center hosted eight career fairs during the 2025 fall semester.
“With eight career fairs this semester alone, SIUE continues to deliver exceptional opportunities for students to connect with employers and secure internships, residencies, and full-time positions,” said Susan Seibert, Director, SIUE Career Development Center. “These events are instrumental in our commitment to student success.”
