SIUE Among State Leaders as Illinois Public Universities Reach Highest Enrollment in a Decade
On November 17, Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) announced that Illinois public universities have reached their highest enrollment level in ten years, referencing the IBHE annual report, “First Look Fall Enrollment, 2025-26 Illinois Public Universities.” The report highlights historic momentum in Illinois higher education where SIUE stands out as one of the state’s top performers.
Within this surge, SIUE recorded one of the largest undergraduate enrollment increases in the state, rising 10.7% overall and posting a remarkable 20.6% gain in new full-time transfer students. These results underscore SIUE’s growing appeal and its commitment to expanding opportunities for students while advancing the state’s goals for broader access and student success.
