SIUE SON FNP/PMHNP Program Preceptor Excellence Awards 2022
Preceptors are healthcare providers (NP, MD, DO, PA, CNM) who are expert clinicians in their area of practice. They provide students practicum training experiences. Preceptors are key to the success of a SIUE nurse practitioner student. They volunteer their time and expertise to educating and mentoring nurse practitioner students during their clinical rotations. The FNP and PMHNP programs are seeking nominations for exceptional preceptors in the following:
- Family Practice
- Pediatrics
- Women’s Health
- Mental Health
- Specialty Areas (Not listed above)
Nominee requirements
- Have precepted a SIUE FNP or PMHNP in the past calendar year 2022
- Should be an advanced practice nurse, MD, DO or PA
Excellent Preceptors
- Promote critical thinking
- Provide students with effective and constructive feedback
- Enable clinical decision making
- Model evidence-based practice

The FNP and PMHNP programs are currently accepting student nominations for Preceptor Excellence Awards. Student nominations will be accepted through November 5th Committee votes will be accepted through November 12th. Award recipients will be announced the week of November 19nd.
