Brief Intro/bio
I have been at SIUE since 2018; although I have been a pharmacist and educator for over 20 years. Before joining SIUE, I had practice experiences in academia, community, hospital, managed care, and informatics. In my current roles, I lead and mentor a faculty and staff team that designs, implements, and assesses the skills, simulation, and interprofessional education (IPE) portions of the SOP curriculum. As coordinator of the Education Specialization, I precept APPE students and residents for an academic elective rotation and coordinate two teaching electives in the P3 year. I teach in a variety of other courses, including Drug Information, Biomedical Literature Evaluation, Patient Centered Communication, and Personal and Professional Development, among others. My practice background is in primary care, and my clinical interests focus on mental and behavioral health, metabolic health, and functional medicine. I am passionate about pharmacy practice skill development, education, and mental health and wellness; therefore, these are integrated into my teaching, service, and scholarly work.
