Dr. Janice Frueh is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. She also holds an adjunct appointment with the Department of Family Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Ill. Dr. Frueh graduated from Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Profession with her doctorate of pharmacy in 2007. She completed a two-year post-graduate residency with an emphasis in ambulatory care and leadership at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 2009. Dr. Frueh provides clinical services for diabetes management and cardiovascular health at the SIU Center for Family Medicine. Other interest areas include OSCEs (objective structured clinical exams) and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Clinical interests:
My clinical areas of interest are primarily focused in ambulatory/primary care practice environments. Areas of interest include medication therapy management services for chronic disease state management (diabetes, cardiovascular health, asthma, COPD, smoking cessation).
Practice site information:
My practice site is at the Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine in Springfield, Ill. The site provides education to medical students, family medicine residents and a number of other health care professional learners about delivering quality primary care services to the people in the local community and in the greater central Illinois area. Its faculty also consists of a variety of health care practitioners to expose the medical residents to working in an integrated health care team.
Scholarly interests:
My practice-based interests include the development and implementation of medication therapy management services into primary care practices. Other interests: Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs), student/practitioner leadership development, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
