Dr. Terri Poirier, professor emerita of pharmacy practice, joined SIUE from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Penn. At Duquesne, she was a professor of pharmacy practice and director of lifelong learning, responsible for the nontraditional Pharm.D. program and continuing education programs. She received her B.S. in pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, N.Y., and then completed a Pharm.D. and hospital pharmacy residency from the University of Michigan in 1979. In 1985, Dr. Poirier earned a master of public health degree in health services administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Poirier is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.

From 1979 to 2004, I was a Pharmacy Practice faculty at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. I was also affiliated with healthcare systems where I developed innovative clinical services. Besides curriculum innovation, I was Director of Life long Learning at Duquesne responsible for the non-traditional Pharm.D. program and continuing education.
