Dr. Ruscin a native of central Illinois and joined SIUE School of Pharmacy in 2008. Prior to joining SIUE, he spent 13 years with the faculty at the University of Colorado-Denver School of Pharmacy and Center on Aging. He graduated with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1993. After completing a pharmacy practice residency at the University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics, he completed a Geriatrics Fellowship at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. He is a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (FASCP) and was elected as a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy in 2013 (FCCP). His teaching, clinical practice and research all center around the care of older adults, with special interest in the treatment of dementia and drug safety in older adults. His practice site is in Springfield, IL with SIU School of Medicine, spending time working with faculty and staff in the Center for Clinical Research, the Neurosciences Institute, and the Department of Internal Medicine (Division of General Internal Medicine) where he holds an adjunct faculty appointment.
