Brief Intro/bio
Dr. Carrie Vogler has been a clinical professor with the Department of Pharmacy Practice at SIUE for over 15 years. She coordinates the P2 skills laboratory course and an Acute Care Pharmacotherapy elective. She is involved in the professional development of faculty and staff and helps to coordinate programming throughout the year.
At her practice site at Springfield Memorial Hospital, in Springfield, Illinois, Dr. Vogler rounds daily with the Southern Illinois University Internal Medicine team. She discusses her drug therapy recommendations with doctors right at the point when the doctors are making critical decisions about the care of the patient. She helps counsel patients on medications before hospital discharge and provides education to the medical residents on the internal medicine teams.
Education/Training/Background
Dr. Vogler received her doctorate of pharmacy from Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy and completed her pharmacy practice residency at Saint Louis University Hospital.
Practice Site Information
Dr. Vogler has a joint appointment with the SIU School of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. She participates in multi-disciplinary, inpatient teaching rounds with the internal medicine teams.

Scholarly Interests
I am interested in optimizing medications for hospitalized patients on the internal medicine service in my clinical interest areas. I am also interested in professional development.
Professional Engagement
Dr. Vogler is actively involved in the AACP Laboratory Sig and Pharmacy Practice Section. She is a member of the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (ICHP) state pharmacy organization in the area of Marketing Affairs.
