Dr. Miranda Wilhelm is a clinical professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and clinical community pharmacist with Schnucks Pharmacy. Dr. Wilhelm received her doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. She completed a community pharmacy residency at B&K Prescription Shop, partnered with the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. Before joining SIUE, Dr. Wilhelm was pharmacy manager for Hen House Pharmacy in the Kansas City area. In that role, she was also primary preceptor for the University of Kansas/Hen House Pharmacy community pharmacy residency program. Dr. Wilhelm’s areas of interest include self-care initiatives, immunizations, medication therapy management and preventive screenings.

Clinical interests
My clinical specialty area is community-based pharmacy practice. My interests include delivery of patient care services, medication therapy management, disease state education and self-care. Other areas of interest relate to health and wellness such as immunizations and preventative screenings. I also enjoy mentoring residents and students to assist with their professional development.
Practice site information
My practice site is at the Schnucks Pharmacy in Edwardsville, Ill. Currently, I am working to develop and implement pharmacy services. Specific programs include medication therapy management services, smoking cessation classes, blood pressure management clinic, providing immunizations, cardiovascular risk assessments and diabetes education classes. I serve as a preceptor for students on the community pharmacy Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) during the final professional year.
Scholarly interests
My research interests consist of self-care initiatives and development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services in the community setting.
