Student Declaration of Current Residence and Physical Location - 1Q10
Every Student is required to report accurate address information (Mailing, Campus, and/or Permanent) in CougarNet at the time of registration. Any change to one of these addresses while attending SIUE should be updated within 5 business days of the change.
If you are not residing in University Housing, SIUE will use your permanent address to determine your physical location for reporting and regulatory purposes unless you have declared a mailing address. If you have declared a mailing address separate from your permanent address, SIUE will use your mailing address to determine your physical location for reporting and regulatory purposes. If your reported address does not accurately reflect the state you are physically located in while engaging with SIUE please contact Online Services and Educational Outreach 618-650-3210 or email licensure@siue.edu.
Accurate reporting of the state you are physically located in while attending/engaging with SIUE either in person, online, or in an Experiential Learning Experience * is necessary to ensure appropriate administration of financial aid, ability to obtain licensure upon completion of your educational program, authorization for online education, experiential learning placements, etc.
If the student is in an educational program that leads to certification or professional licensure, they should review the Authorization and Professional Licensure websites. Students in a program leading to professional licensure shall consult with their advisor and/or experiential learning/clinical placement coordinator at least 60 days prior to any relocation and/or experiential learning experience outside the state of Illinois whether in person or online.
Federal regulations mandate that SIUE provides guidance to distance education students who either initially apply or declare into a program that leads to professional licensure where such licensure is required to seek employment.
SIUE will make determinations and act as required by the mandate in the following manner:
- Students who receive their education in a state where SIUE does not meet the educational requirements for licensure will be given the option to sign a document acknowledging their intent to seek employment in Illinois or another state where SIUE meets educational requirements for licensure.
*Experiential Learning Experience includes but is not limit to clinical rotation, internship, externship, student teaching, clerkship, co-curricular courses, fellowship, apprenticeship, field experience, travel study, etc.
