Full-time Faculty Human Resources Policies

Introduction
These procedures and policies do not apply to faculty covered by a collective bargaining agreement nor do these policies alter, abridge, or abrogate any rights or responsibilities created by virtue of any applicable law, statute, rule, regulation, the Faculty Handbook or policies of the Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University and shall be interpreted consistently with the existence and exercise of such rights and responsibilities. Violations of University policies and procedures may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Office of Human Resources
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the implementation of an effective program of human resources administration for all employees, including but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Implementation of the total personnel program for employees within the provisions of statutes (state and federal) as may be applicable.
- Recruitment and employment of qualified personnel.
- Classification of positions.
- Creation and maintenance of a sound program of internal employee and labor relations.
- Maintenance and security of all personnel records.
- Administration of the University benefit program.
- Administration of a wage and salary program.
