Making Changes to Student Curriculum
Curriculum Structure in Banner
SOILCUR contains all curriculum data for a student per module: Recruiting, Admissions, Learner and Outcome. Most often you will access the curriculum tab on SGASTDN to display only Learner curriculum data. If registration has already begun for a term in which you wish to update curriculum, you will access SFAREGS.
On either SGASTDN or SFAREGS, there are two blocks of data. The Curriculum block is comprised of the Program, Catalog Term, Campus, Priority and Activity. The Field of Study block is comprised of Priority, Catalog, Type (Major, Concentration, Minor, Format) and Status.
A Program is the umbrella under which all detailed curriculum information falls. The program is defined on SMAPRLE and is built using the following convention: Degree_Level_College.
Example: Bachelor of Science in Biology = BS_UG_AS
Majors and concentrations are assigned to the appropriate programs on the SOACURR form.
In Banner, there are separate major codes for specializations. The specializations are stored as concentrations and are built to associate only with the correct major.

- In the Student Attribute section of the page, the From Term must match the term entered in the header block. If it does not match, click on Maintenance and then click Copy Student Attribute (Always Copy and Never End Student Attributes).

Student Attributes should always be carried forward to the To Term: 999999. These steps may have to be repeated for each To Term that is not 999999.
Please note, that end users should only add the student attributes their office is responsible for maintaining. Never delete a student attribute or End student attributes other than the codes unless it is a code your office is responsible for maintaining. If only one Student Attribute is listed and that is the code which needs to be ended, click Maintenance and then End Student Attribute. This would be an appropriate use of End Student Attribute.
