How To Make the Most Out of Homecoming Week
Posted September 23, 2019
As I start my third year at SIUE, one thing that always gets me excited in the fall are the freebies. Luckily, there is an event happening now! SIUE Homecoming Week starts today and ends September 29.
Homecoming is one of my absolute favorite events on campus because it is a week full of free giveaways and fun activities. I always look forward to the t-shirts, water bottles, coupons and other items that are available during Homecoming.
So, here is your guide for making the most out of SIUE’s Homecoming Week!
Monday, September 23
- Homecoming Kick Off from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Stratton Quad
- The Homecoming Kick Off is one of my favorite events because there are free t-shirts and food!
Tuesday, September 24
- Cougar Karaoke from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the MUC Goshen Lounge
- Cougar Karaoke is an awesome event where you are able to see the talent of your fellow students.
Wednesday, September 25
- Homecoming Bonfire from 6-9 p.m. at the SIUE RecPlex
- Any chance to get free s’mores and hot dogs should be reason enough for any student to go. You also get the chance to make new friends and meet other people.
Thursday, September 26
- Cosmic Bowling from 9-11 p.m. at Cougar Lanes
- Free + cosmic bowling = happiness
Friday, September 27
- Homecoming Movie from 6-8 p.m. at the Science East Auditorium
- Who wouldn’t take the chance to see Toy Story 4?!
Saturday, September 28
- Men’s Soccer vs. University of Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. at Korte Stadium
- Students are able to watch the game to support the Cougars while also joining the Cougar Fan Zone which starts at 4 p.m. and is located in the east parking lot at the stadium.
Sunday, September 29
- Women’s Soccer vs. Jacksonville State at 2 p.m. at Korte Stadium
- It is a great way to end the homecoming week by supporting your Cougars!
Although some students may not find Homecoming Week enticing, give it a chance. It is one of the best events SIUE throws for the students and alumni. Check out all of the homecoming events!
