Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS Grant)

What is CCAMPIS?
- Student-parent applicants are considered for child care and/or emergency assistance through CCAMPIS funding on the basis of eligibility status, financial income, need, resources, and family contribution levels.
- Authorized by the Higher Education Act and administered by the US Department of Education, CCAMPIS helps low-income student-parents stay in school and graduate.
- The project is fully funded by the US Department of Education.
- Faculty, staff, and fellow students are often the first to know who SIUE's student parents are. If you know of a student who meets the eligibility guidelines listed below, please share information about the opportunity with the student AND send an email to ccampis@siue.edu with their name, 800 address, and email address (if known) so our team can reach out with more information.
Who is Eligible?
- Undergraduate and Graduate student parents enrolled at least one credit hour at SIUE.
- Child must be aged infant through 5th grade and receiving child care from a licensed provider.
- Low-income families, including those who are Pell eligible, based on priority of need. A sliding scale is used to determine family eligibility. Families with the greatest need will receive the highest level of subsidy.
What Child Care Facilities are Eligible?
- The CCAMPIS grant can be used at any ffully licensed providers of the child of a student parent aged infant through 5th grade. Participating students will be required to submit an invoice for reimbursement of child care expenses.
- Several local Child Care facilities have agreed to participate in the SIUE CCAMPIS program. Those facilities permit the University to pay the provider directly after submitting an invoice. They include:

- Early Explorations, Inc.
- Kindercare
- ECUSD #7 Kid Zone
What will you Receive With a Child Care Grant?
- Child care funding
- Up to 25-100 percent of total cost covered.
- Before- and after-school care expenses through 5th grade are permitted.
- Support
- Parent workshops
- Student Parent Support Groups
- Academic counseling sessions
- Resource referrals
- CCAMPIS team will connect you with the university and community resources.
Who is Eligible to Apply for the Emergency Assistance Grant?
- Student-parents who meet the eligibility requirements and are facing a sudden, unforeseen financial emergency may apply.
- Funds may help students overcome temporary financial crises to they may remain enrolled.
Child Care Assistance Grant: What do I have to do?
- Review the information below and the Pre-application Checklist and prepare yourself with the information needed to complete your application. The application can take 30-45 minutes to complete.
- For children currently in child-care: Gather materials needed to upload the most recent child care provider invoice for each child for whom funds are being sought.
- For children not currently enrolled in child care: Gather materials needed to upload projected weekly child care cost from a website or quote from desired provider.
- For children enrolled at the SIUE Early Childhood Center: No additional documentation needs to be submitted.

Emergency Assistance Grant: What do I have to do?
- Review the information below and the Pre-application Checklist and prepare yourself with the information needed to complete your application. The application can take 30-45 minutes to complete.
- Emergency funding can only be awarded once per degree program. The maximum amountt is $5,000.
- Submit your Emergency Grant Assistance Grant application.
