Welcome to the Student Affairs graduate assistantship webpage. Student Affairs is comprised of 16 departments and offers dozens of Graduate Assistant/Teaching Assistant (GA/TA) positions each year.
These positions provide graduate students education and professional benefits. GA/TA positions assist in creating learning connections between academic coursework and the assistantship experience and provide financial resources that help defray the expenses associated with completing their graduate degree. Summer 2024 GA/TA Positions
Application Process
Before applying for an Assistantship opening, you must be admitted to a graduate degree program as a classified graduate student.
To apply:
- Click on the link of the position in which you have interest to view the details of the position.
- Follow the instructions within the posting and submit the required documents directly to the hiring unit.
- If you have questions about the position, use the contact information at the bottom of the posting to contact the hiring unit.
Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Many departments make their graduate assistant hiring decisions three to four months prior to the start of the fall term.
Housing Options
Graduate students at SIUE are assigned to apartments in Cougar Village with other graduate students. Graduate housing offers graduate students a unique chance to build community with other students with similar academic goals and experiences.
All single-student apartments are fully furnished and have either two or three bedrooms. Applicants may choose a shared bedroom, private bedroom, or a deluxe private bedroom. Cougar Village is a short walk or shuttle ride from classrooms and main campus buildings.
The preferred application deadline for Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 is June 1, 2024. However, applications will continue to be accepted throughout the summer. A $125 advance payment is required with the housing application. Admitted students can apply for Housing online at siue.edu/housing/apply.
