Interim Dean of Students Announcement

I am pleased to share that Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Mindy Dilley (she/her) will serve as Interim Dean of Students beginning February 16, 2026.
Since joining SIUE in July 2024, Dr. Dilley has provided senior-level leadership for Student Care, Advocacy, and Accountability, overseeing complex CARE, conduct, and student welfare matters.
“In a short time, Dr. Dilley has made valuable contributions to an array of student rights, well-being, care, and advocacy efforts. This has included serving on the behavioral intervention team, postvention team, and the student care and advocacy network. She is a student-focused professional who leads with fairness, care, and compassion,” said Miriam Roccia, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
Dr. Dilley has a proven track record of collaboration across divisions to advance student success, retention, and a supportive campus climate. She has quickly become a trusted advisor on student behavior, risk assessment, and crisis response, balancing institutional obligations with student-centered decision-making.
As a solution-oriented and collaborative leader, Mindy is recognized for her innovative thinking and adaptability in complex environments. She strives to foster inclusive spaces where all students belong.

Mindy holds a PhD in College Access & Student Success from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Missouri State University. She was recognized by the Sigma Kappa National Society for the national “35 Under 35” Award.
Mindy displays her passion for supporting students in all aspects of life and education. In this position, Mindy will lead the Dean of Students Office with an emphasis on promoting a positive campus climate, fostering belonging, and partnering across divisions and departments for student success.
A national search for the Dean of Students will begin immediately.
