Welcome to Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA)!
Founded on April 6, 2017, the SIUE Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) was organized to create better opportunities, ensure equity and inclusion, provide an engaging network, and create a welcoming environment for black faculty and staff.
The BFSA is an organization representative of SIUE’s goal to be more inclusive and diverse. Its mission is to provide support while advancing the interests and promoting the welfare of Black faculty and staff at SIUE. This association utilizes and consciously recognizes the term “Black” in reference to its identity. The use of this term signifies acknowledgment of the significant parallel history that persons who identify as Black and/or who identify as members of the African Diaspora share in regards to self-identity and attainment of social justice.
