9:30-10:15 a.m. Welcome to Preview SIUE, Meridian Ballroom
Learn more about all things SIUE, including admissions, and hear about the experiences of current SIUE students during a special Q&A.
10:15-10:30 a.m. Break
10:30-11:40 a.m. Breakout Sessions, Second Floor, Morris University Center

  1. Attend two sessions, choosing from the list below.
  2. Sessions start at 10:30 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. with a 10-minute break in between.
  3. Campus tours are offered during the second breakout session for those students and guests who plan to attend an academic session at 12:30 p.m.

Campus and Housing Tours

Walking tours of campus include a tour of a first-year residence hall. Tours depart from the Campus Tours table near Starbucks at 11:05 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. A tour ticket is required for each person on the tour and can be picked up from the Campus Tours table. If you plan to attend one of the academic sessions at 12:30 p.m., we encourage you to tour during this time.

If you haven't decided on a major yet, this is a great time to explore SIUE's academic programs, meet with representatives from different majors, and learn more about the classroom experience.

Use your meal card and check out the dining options on the lower level of the Morris University Center.
You'll get a "taste" of what it's like to be an SIUE student!

Academic Sessions and Department Tours

These sessions provide a more in-depth look at academic majors. Academic session locations vary. Refer to the program insert for a full list of participating academic programs and meet at the respective department's table in the Goshen Lounge at 12:30 p.m.

  • Learn more about the curriculum and student organizations 

Campus Tours

The last walking tour of campus and a first-year residence hall will depart at 12:30 p.m. from the Campus Tours table next to Starbucks. A tour ticket is required and can be picked up at the Campus Tours table.

Anthropology  Lovejoy Library, Conference Room (3rd Floor) The Departments of Anthropology, Geography & Geographic Information Sciences, Political Science, and Sociology will host a collaborative session and discuss discipline-specific approaches to real-world problems and career paths/opportunities.
Art & Design Art & Design East, Art & Design West Join us for a tour of the Art and Design Facilities, followed by meeting with a panel of current BFA candidates.
Biological Sciences Science East and Science West Embark on a journey into biology, where the foundations of life are explored, discovered, and redefined. This tour offers a glimpse into what drives student success in biology at SIUE, from the lecture spaces to cutting-edge laboratories.
Chemistry Science East and Science West Join us for a tour of the Department of Chemistry facilities in Science East and Science West and discuss opportunities within Chemistry.
English   Lovejoy Library, Friends Corner (1st Floor) Prospective students and guests will take part in an informational session about the Department of English Language & Literature and what it has to offer. We will have one of our students share with you their experience as an English major. 
Geography & Geographic Information Sciences   Lovejoy Library, Conference Room (3rd Floor) The Departments of Anthropology, Geography & Geographic Information Sciences, Political Science, and Sociology will host a collaborative session and discuss discipline-specific approaches to real-world problems and career paths/opportunities.
History   Lovejoy Library, Conference Room (2nd Floor) Join us for a discussion about the various programs within History and to hear from one of our students majoring in our program about their experience.
International Studies   Lovejoy Library, Instructional Classroom (1st Floor) Join us for a discussion about what International Studies has to offer. We will discuss the degree program, possible career pathways, and highlight our annual International Studies Day event. There will be a current student majoring in International Studies to share their experience.
Mass Communications   Dunham Hall Join the Department of Mass Communications for a tour of the Television Studio, editing labs and production spaces.
Music Dunham Hall During the tour of Dunham Hall, visitors will explore the Dunham Hall Theater and the various music spaces within the building. The music facilities feature soundproof rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, individual practice spaces, and faculty studios.
Political Science / Pre-Law  Lovejoy Library, Conference Room (3rd Floor) The Departments of Anthropology, Geography & Geographic Information Sciences, Political Science, and Sociology will host a collaborative session and discuss discipline-specific approaches to real-world problems and career paths/opportunities.
Social Work   Peck Hall, room 1306 Join us for a tour of the Social Work department and facilities in Peck Hall.
Sociology   Lovejoy Library, Conference Room (3rd Floor) The Departments of Anthropology, Geography & Geographic Information Sciences, Political Science, and Sociology will host a collaborative session and discuss discipline-specific approaches to real-world problems and career paths/opportunities.
Theater & Dance Dunham Hall Students will tour our facilities, sit in on a live rehearsal, and take part in an informational session designed for both parents and students.
