SIUE proudly celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2007. Since 1957, the University has grown from 1,776 students to nearly 13,500 students. SIUE is a catalyst for the cultural and intellectual vitality and economic development of Southwestern Illinois and the greater St. Louis region. Fifty years after admitting its first students, SIUE remains a public university for the people of Illinois. We look forward to our next half-century of excellence.
