Pharmacy / Public Administration
Overview
The School of Pharmacy and the Department of Public Administration and Policy Analysis within the College of Arts and Sciences offer students the opportunity to earn a Master of Public Administration (MPA) while also working toward completion of the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). PharmD students who are admitted to the MPA program will use selected pharmacy courses to meet some requirements within the MPA curriculum and use selected MPA courses to meet some requirements for the PharmD program.
The knowledge, skills and abilities obtained through the MPA program will offer PharmD graduates the opportunity to engage in active roles of policy development and leadership in committees, organizations and communities.
Program Format
PharmD students who are admitted to the MPA program will:
- Use selected pharmacy courses to meet some requirements within the MPA curriculum
- Use selected MPA courses to meet some requirements for the PharmD program
MPA classes are offered in an online format.
What can I do with a PharmD/MPA?
The PharmD/MPA graduate will be prepared to engage in the development and analysis of pharmaceutical and healthcare policy issues, the administration of pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations and systems, and participation in committees and agencies concerned with the rules and regulations surrounding drugs and healthcare.
