Minor in Surveying & Geomatics
The Surveying & Geomatics Minor prepares students either with or taking an engineering or science-related degree to qualify for the first step as licensure as a professional land surveyor in Illinois and most of the bordering States. The minor will provide technical training in the operation of current surveying equipment and concepts in boundary, location, geospatial techniques, mapping, and many other surveying and geography-related skills.
Students must complete a total of seven courses from the list of approved courses for a total of 24 hours or more. These include five surveying and two geography courses. Students must receive a “C” or better in all courses to be applied to the minor.
